Ah, Thanksgiving break. It's so close I can almost feel it. Feel, taste... whatever. I've decided to make a list of things I am looking forward to over break. Her we go. Wheee!!!
* my bed, even though I won't be sleeping in it on Tuesday or Wednesday nights.
* family! Yay for the crazy Pruett clan. I want you all to meet them.
* Mary Lou and her amazing strawberry-rhubarb pie. Yum, it's my favorite. I told Grandma she should suggest it to her to make some, so she did. I was half joking, but I guess MLou went all over looking for fresh rhubarb. What a great lady. I think I have seen her MAYBE twice since the age of 10, no joke. All I remember about her is the school with the playground nearby and this killer pie. Wow.
* Thanksgiving night antics. Last year it was crossdressing and going to Meijer at 1:30. I'm thinking maybe an 80s night or something?
* Euchre, euchre, euchre. It's not a holiday without euchre.
* Setting up our Christmas tree. Always done the day after Thanksgiving, it should be even more fun with Janeen, Megan, and Noz around.
* Food, of course. Eating ourselves into oblivion. Wonderful.
* Girl's night @ Heather's on Tuesday. YAY!!!
* Watching White Christmas on Thanksgiving night.
* Watching the musical version f Scrooge, starring Albert Finney (my all-time FAVORITE Christmas movie, by the way) on Friday as we decorate the tree.
* Going to Jeremy's first varsity basketball game and yelling lots with Kalee. Yay for siblings.
* Leftovers. Enough said.
* Getting the shaft and having to sleep in the living room on Wednesday night. Oh well, this could still be fun.
* Building a fire in the fireplace.
* The way my living room will look on Friday night, after Mom finishes the decorating. I LOVE that.
* Seeing friends I haven't seen at all this year.
* Seeing friends I have seen this year
* Watching football with my dad and falling asleep on the couch.
* Watching movies in my parent's room and falling asleep on their bed with Megan.
* Falling asleep wherever I am, basically. :)
* Hopefully seeing Stroup. YAY!!
* Crocheting and impressing everyone with my new-found feminineness. Mwahahaha.
* Getting scheduled to work over Christmas break. Bring on the money. I could use it, that's for sure.
* Not doing any homework. I'm sure I'll have some, but that doesn't mean I'll do it.
* Not being at IWU. Yay for going home for longer than a day.
I think that's about it. It's 3:25, I really should go to bed soon. Too bad I'm not tired... must have been that nap I took at 8. :)

What a weekend! It was so much fun! Well, for the most part, it was really, really good. :) YAY!
Friday, I spent most of my afternoon in the library, holed up in one of the study rooms on the top floor. Very cozy. I, being the super-studious student (good alliteration right there) that I am, decided to get as much done as I oculd before Friday night. I wanted to go to Encounter, mostly because it was the last one going ot be held at the "old" church, so I wanted to go. I was at the first, I wanted to be at the last. Kind of a neat thing, Encounter is. Me gusta. Anyhoo, I got home around 5:45, which gave me plenty of time to sit around and do nothing. But, much to my delight, that did not happen. Kalee and a few of her friends showed up relatively soon after I did and we all ate dinner together. Mom made chili (which just doesn't happen. I can't remember the last time we ate homemade food on a Friday night. For as long as I can remember, we have ALWAYS gone out on Friday nights. Oh well) which had some not-so-welcomed after effects, I must say.
The highlight of the pre-Encounter night was that Nicole taught me how to crochet! I know! Yay, again! I made a goal last semester to learn how to crochet or knit, so I went and bought some yarn and a book and everything, but it didn't take. Luckily, Nicole is quite the Martha and helped me out. I spent all of Friday, before and after the Big E working on my SCARF. Yes, scarf. I am so prous of myself. It's addicting, I can't hardly put it down. Who knew? I mean, yeah, I AM quite the crafty person, but to crochet? I'm a fully-bonified homemaker now. Aw yeah.
I wanted A Christmas Story with Jeremy after Encounter. I like spending time with him, which is weird because that came out of absolutely nowhere. I think he misses me and actually likes me now that I am away at school. And by away, I mean 1/2 hour. :)
I woke up Saturday at 12:45, which was so great. I hadn't slept very well last week, and my own bed was exactly what I needed. Mom made fun of me because I had 5, yes 5, blankets on my bed. I can't help it that I like to snuggle! She swears I'm not her child: I like blankets and I don't like chocolate. Oh well.
The goal was to actually WRITE my exegesis paper all day on Saturday. I was going to go to Dad's office wnad use his commentaries, etc to finish my word studies, but did that happen? No. I didn't touch my paper. I sat around for a few hours, crocheting and talking to my mom. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon. I got in the shower around 3, but by the time I was totally done getting ready, Mom had stuff she needed me to do, and then people started showing up for Jeremy's party. The real reason I went home to begin with this weekend was because Jeremy, my freshly-17 year old brother, was having a party. Dad was out of town and Mom didn't want to have to do it all herself. Kalee was going to the symphony that Megan was singing in, so I got to be the Party Girl.
It was actually a lot of fun. Not that I doubted that it would be, as my house is the place to be on pretty much an everyday basis. There was a bonfire, complete with a hotdog roast (Shannon Williams managed to drop 4 hotdogs into the fire. I was amazed. Poor girl.). Good times, fun times. We all smelled like a fire afterward, which is never pleasant. But it was fun. We decided to walk across the field and scope out the new church. Beautiful. I'm excited. 2 more weeks, theoretically.
After everybody left, and after I chatted with Hannah for almost 2 hours, Jeremy, Jeremy Weed, and I went to Taco Bell. I felt so old, even though Jeremy is 17 and Werm (Jeremy Weed) is 18. Oh well. We watched Christmas Vacation after we got back, and once again, I planted myself in Dad's big comfy recliner (aka The Throne) and crocheted until my eye sstarted crossing. it was wonderful.
I went to OBC/CCC this morning, imagine that. I went to the high school CE class and heard some guy Pat Waterman works with. He is from Turkey and was talking about Islam. Very, very informative. Also very interesting.
When I got back today, I finally began typing my exegesis paper. it's about time, too. I'm not too worried about it, but it's still needing to be done. Blah.
We had our hall Thanksgiving dinner tonight. So yummy. It makes me happy for next week. *sigh* We also set up our Christmas tree in our room tonight and hun up some lights. It's awesome. Definitely the ecclectic and random decorations, from the Winnie the Pooh strand of lights hung over the mirror by the sink to the soccer ball decorations on the tree, to the plastic, lightup Tweety and Tigger things standing outside of our door. I love it.
