I love my Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. It's so nice to be done by noon on the weekend, even though I usually have nothing to do. If I went home a lot, or, you know, had a life in the afternoons, it'd be even better. But alas, I do not do or have either of those things. But the idea of being finished early is nice to think about.

Today is the first week day in about 3 weeks that I am not wearing a stupid, old t-shirt and jeans. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

I watched Barbershop last night with Brittany. That movie cracks me up. I'm excited for the 2nd one to come out. I hope it doesn't follow the pattern that is so prevalent in Hollywood today: let's make a good movie, then replace all the characters and have a less-than-mediocre plot, slap a "2" on the end of the title and expect to win an award. I've seen it happen hundreds of times (*Shakes her head and sighs.). Some sequels, though, are great. I'd say LOTR 2 is one of those, but to me, all three movies are just one movie, split up into 3 separate 3-hour long sections. It's all together in my mind.

There is so much drama going on right now it's not even funny. And none of it has anything to do with me. I just get to deal with it in the best way I know how. It's been a growing experience, that's for sure. It's so true that when crises happen, what you are really made of it brought to light. I am learning lots about myself through this junk that isn't even about me. I wish I could just vent all of it to this stupid machine and let all of you know exactly what is going on, but they aren't my issues, and it's definitely NOT my place to spill-all. So, if you pray, keep my my roommates and I in your prayers as stuff is getting, well, worse and worse.

On a lighter note, it is a BEAUTIFUL day outside today! Wahoo for pretty autumn days! I think I am going to take my blanket and sit on the grass and read.

Ok, now about Sunday. I woke up (in my own wonderful bed at home) to my dad's voice. I like waking up on Sundays at home. It's the only time I really like to wake up... Church was pretty good; I saw people I hadn't seen in a while. Sunday afternoon after lunch, Megan, Kalee, and I all took naps on my bed. Spooning action. I went to YWAV for the 2nd time since I moved back into school. It was good, b/c most of my friends were there. Not like, the ones still in HS, but a lot of my college-aged friends were there b/c they were homr for fall break. As promised, Andrew came and had bought me a bottle of Blue Cheese dressing. Kind of a weird gift, but it had a funny meaning. I ate some of it today with my chicken fingers for lunch. Yum! But anyhoo, Sunday night was good: the baby face was in abundance. Muahahaha.

All About Melissa:
Melissa was reading my blog yesterday and complained that I never write about her in here. Well, sorry my love, but it's hard to write about someone when you harldy ever see them! BUT!! Melissa (I will be refering to her as Smel, most likely. Maybe The Smellion.) came to campus yesterday! I realized just how different this year has been from last year. I have missed hanging out with her SO much. It's crazy. But we had lots of fun, and she got to see most of her friends here. There was one amazing Dance Party (complete with bootydropping on the couches) and a jam session with Shane Barnard and Shane Everett. There was no bootydropping during that. Yikes. My RD walked in in the middle of a loud and off-key sing along. I'm sure she was "impressed" with our vocals. :) ALSO, Smell is single!! If there is a guy reading this who happens to play baseball, be at least 5'10", and be somewhat of the cute-nerdy type, let me know. I'll give you her number. She's a real catch. Ow! Ow! She'll probably hate me for writing that, but that is a chance I am willing to take. She'll thank me sometime.

Oh man, so I got this call yesterday from a girl who writes for the school paper. She said she was doing an article about Lord of the Rings and she heard I was a big fan. Good news travels fast, eh? She said her article was about the effect the movie has had on campus. I was volunteered. She came up last night and interviewed me, asking questions about the books and the movies, etc. She said she had heard that I had a Legolas stand-up. Yep, I do. He stands in the corner of our living room. We finished the interview and she took a few pics of me with my standup and posters. I kind of hope those pics don't make it into the next issue, or else I'll forever be known as "That girl who likes LOTR way too much" around campus. Then again, that's not such a bad reputation to have. It could be a lot worse, I suppose (For example, there was a girl here last year who smelled like pickles, so we called her "Smelly Pickle Girl."). It's almost embarrassing to know that people I don't even know know how much I like those movies. Then again, what's not to like?!?

What a weekend. Allow me to relate all the details of the last 3 days of my life. :)

Friday:
Class, yadda yadda yadda. I guess my dad came to campus during the afternoon to do lunch witha few people who want to join youth staff. Sadly, he did not give ME a call telling me he'd be on campus. Poopypants! Oh well. My mom came over in the evening and we went to Ivanhoes to get some yummy ice cream. It's in Upland, right across the street from Taylor University. Enemy territory: I had to be on my guard for anti-Wildcat sentiments. Not really, actually, but I DID hear a few choice words from the guys in the booth behind us. That just goes to show that any Christian school whose mascot is a brand of condom is a little off. Ha ha ha, just kidding. I had planned on going to Taylor until spring break of my senior year, actually, so I shouldn't say bad things about the place b/c it really is a very good school.
FNL was Friday night, so Mom and I went to that with Brittany and Ben. While we waited upstairs outside of the balcony, some other kids were being immature and throwing paper balls down on people below us. Of course, we joined in. My mom got in on the action, even. I think it might have been her idea that we all should throw our paperwads at the same person, but I don't remember. Eveyrbody seemed to think she was pretty cool, though. FNL was really funny, but some of the skits were too long. The beginning was awesome. I laughed LOTS: the Lion King beginning done with head-dresses, only the head dresses happened to be made out of those long skinny balloons. You know, the ones clowns use and make flowers or whatever. It was so funny. I came back here afterwards, after Mom left, and watched the first part of the extended version of LOTR, but happened to fall asleep pretty quickly. Oh well.

Saturday
I set my alarm to get up at 10. I hate setting alarms on weekends, but I had to. I got ready and then headed home for the rest of the weekend. Josh Tarrh's wedding was at 1:30. It was so pretty. He cried through the whole thing. He is just so cute. He makes me very happy. Yea, Josh and Elise!! I was sitting beside Stroup and her boyfriend, Andrew. He leaned over and asked what I thought Josh was thinking about. I answered honestly, "Sex!" and I think I caught them off guard b/c Stroupy said, "Keenan! Oh my gosh!" and Andrew tried really hard to not to bust out laughing. His face turned red... I'm not sure how well he was breathing. But hey, weddings... what else are you thinking about?! Celebrate Good Times is running through my head right now. Tee-hee-hee.

Mom, Jeremy, and Ciara Ungar and I left at 4 for some family function. Turns out, it wasn't really my family at all. I don't think I was related to any one there, but I really don't know. It was at the home of Albert and Alma Vinson. I grew up calling them Aunt and Uncle, but they aren't. My grandpa Hennessee was Albert's best friend from the time they were 12 years old. I remember going to their house a when I was younger (Little Jenny years), but the only thing I recall was the island in their kitchen and Alma's chicken and dumplings. Oh man, they were so good. And I remembered that ALbert had massive ears. He is so cute. I was right about the Little Jenny comments, by the way. Everyone my mom knew didn't even bother ot call me by my first name, just as "Little Jenny" but it sounded more like Leetle Jeenie. Lots of Arkansas-ians. I saw "Uncle Frank" for the first time in about 12 years. He is 80, I think. He was walking across the yard with his little rolling walker and came over to us and talked to my mom. His wife died a few years ago. The conversation went something like this (UF=Uncle Frank. M=Mom. K=Keenan):
UF: Jenny?
M: Uncle Frank! How are you!
UF: I'm good. You knew that I got remarried didn't you?
M: No! When did you do that?
UF: In 3 or 4 days, it will be 11 months.
K: Aww! Newlyweds?
UF: (Laughing) Yes. I got myself a new wife... Well, she's not really new, I guess. She's been used.
M: Used? (Laughs a lot)
K:Well, she's new to you. Congratulations, though.
UF: We don't have any kids yet.
M: Are you trying?

UF didn't hear M, so UF didn't answer. K Looked at M with a look of disgust, then M realized what she had asked and decided not to ask UF the last question again. Why am I writing like this? I don't know. :)

We left there, then headed home but ended up stopping at my grandma Pruett's house. I called her when we were on our way, talling her we'd be there in a few minutes and she asked me if she had to put her hair on. My grandma is completely bald. It runs in the family, sadly. I told her she didn't have to, but she ended up doing that. I was kind of disappointed. She makes me laugh a lot, especially when her head is gleaming under the lights of the ceiling. I just can't take her seriously. When we were little, she used to have all sorts of different wigs that she'd keep on those horrid styrofoam head in all the bedrooms of her house. They used to creep me out. As much as I'd love to stay the night with her, I'd hate sleeping in the same room as those things. They looked like massive spiders, let alone with the glowing white heads staring down at you from the shelves. YIKES!!

After we left Grandma's, we went to my aunt and uncle's house in Carmel. This is my mom's brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Marilyn. Sam was in Montana on a fishing trip, which is why he wasn't at the thing earlier in the evening. My cousin John, who is 29 and still single and in his last year in Med School, was there. He makes me laugh. We finally hit the road, heading for home. I think we got back around 11? Jeremy and I watched the first half of Blazing Saddles, which I love. My favorite part is when Lily Von Shtupp (Madeline Kahn is hilarious) sings her song "I'm so tired," and I went to bed after that part. "I'm so tired. Tired of playing the game. Ain't it a fwigging shame? I've been with thousands of men, again and again...Aw, lets face it, everything below the waist is kaput!" I just love that part.

I had planned on writing about Sunday in this entry, but this is already really long. I can just see the problems with the publishing. So, we'll save that for tomorrow.
