Ten Shekel Shirt concert = love me tender. I am such a fan. They are so fun. They guy who opened up for them was pretty good, too. Michael Cook, I believe. He was the perfect combination of Shane Barnard and John Mayer, two of my personal favorites. He looked like and had roughly the same voice as John Mayer, but his style was that of The Shanes. He isn't quite Shaney B. caliber on the guitar, but then again, most people aren't. Maybe Carlos Santana...

I've come to a realization as of late. It's nothing overly profound or meaningful, but it is very, very true. Here it is: Girls like guys who have musical ability. This is true in my own life, at least. I find any musical talent to be very attractive. Guitar = ultimate airbrush. Anything from piano (very nice!) to violin (also very nice) to drums (again, nice) and anything in between is a definite plus. I'm not sure why this is true, but I'd be willing to bet money that if I conducted a survey of all the girls I know, I doubt ANY of them would say that they'd hate it if their boyfriend had some skill in the music field. Highly unlikely. Let this be a pearl of wisdom to all the men out there...pick up an instrument! And then, if you can do more than one...wow! Chick magnet. Definitely. HOWEVER, if the guy cannot sing at all, it IS perfectly ok for him to sing at the top of his lungs. Why shouldn't he? That takes guts, which the ladies also like. And a word to the girls, be sure to let the guy know that you appreciate his talent. They need to know this. I hope all of my guy friends read this and become emboldened to try out an instrument, regardless of what that might be. I'd love to sit around and listen while you play. That's the best. I'm partial to the acoustic guitar, but hey, whatever floats your boat is fine with me. I'm easy.
