My weekend = SUPERB!!
Friday: After Pentateuch (which was amazing, by the way. Wilbur Glenn Williams is the coolest old man ever and Friday's class was probably the best class I've had all semester. Woo!), I hung out in the room with Nicole and Megan, then we grabbed WC and headed south to Steve's house in Anderson. Note: when attempting to find the right street to turn onto, always make sure you are actually in the right town. I hear it helps. 8th Street in Alexandria is nothing more than an alley; 8th Street in Anderson is the right road. We laughed a lot on the way there. I'm glad I was the one driving. Anyway, we watched Godsend.... creepy! The best part was watching Steve scream and jump at the scary parts. Of course, I jumped and screamed right along with him, but it was just really funny to see this 23 year old guy flailing around in his chair. After the movie, we listened to ghetto music while carving pumpkins. Greatness! I think Nicole and I caught Steve off guard a few times with some of our random comments, but that's ok. He is learning us. Love us or leave us.
Megan wanted Taco Bell when we got back to campus, so we went there and met quite possibly th emost incompetent drive-through worker ever. I definitely told him her order 3 different times. I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt and blamed it on faulty equipment. Nicole and I went to Wal-Mart after dropping Meg off at the dorm, b/c Roommate needed to buy last-minute things for her Halloween costume. I ended up falling asleep at the pattern counter while waiting for someone to come and cut her fabric. We rang the bell 5 times, no joke. Who falls asleep at Wal-mart? I do, apparently.
Saturday brought warm weather and no homework. I worked at the kids' Halloween thing in the RWC, which was so fun! Kem's booth was a penny pitching thing in hopes of winning a free goldfish. I was all about that, except that when I showed up to work my shift, I had to help actually bag the smelly fish. Ga-ross. Fun, but stinky. The kids all looked super cute. It made me want to be a parent and dress my child up in snazzy little outfits and trot around asking for candy. That can wait. :)
After that was over, I took off for Lafayette to stay @ Smel's apartment. We ate dinner together and watched a movie, then chatted for a bit before going to bed. We were both tired early. On Sunday morning, we went to church at Campus House. It was pretty good. I'm glad she has found a place to go regularly. That makes me happy.
I thought that I had done a thorough job of packing for my stay in Lafayette, but I was wrong. Sure, I managed to bring my videocamera and outfit to wear to church, but I was a moron and forgot to pack jeans and pajamas. :( So Sunday I wore my skirt all day long, which wasn't too bad b/c it was long and denim and could be casual if worn with the right top, which I had. No biggie.
I went to Andrew's dorm and spent the afternoon with him on Sunday. That was great! We watched part of The Crow; there were tons of stupid semi-scary movies on TV. Halloween does that. Regardless of the dumb movie, it was really good to see him. *Misses The Boyfriend lots*
I MET KRISTYN ON SUNDAY!! Woo! She was so nice! Yay for face-to-face meetings. I was happy. Sometimes I feel like I am incapable of carrying on decent conversation, and sitting with her was definitely one of those times. Sorry, K-Dawg. I promise I can talk to people! Hopefully we'll meet up again and I'll have more to say.
I drove home from Purdue in enough time to go to YWAV. I loved the service: All Saints Day thing was really, really well done. I'm proud to say that I belong to my church. It was really cool and dark and just an all-around good special service, very out of the ordinary. I felt like a complete dork though, b/c I wore my old twizzlers t-shirt that happens to glow in the dark (heinous sounding, I know, but trust me, it's killer!), so I felt like I had to keep my jacket closed all night. I didn't plan it that way.
It's nice to be missed, you know? Jamie Bogue told me that he thought about me all week long and kept wanting to call me but didn't have my number. I was touched. It's so nice to know that people are praying for you. Last week was the busiest of the semester, I think. Not bad, just really busy. I can't imagine what it would have been like had I not had someone back home praying for me like he was. I'm excited about Cristmas break... I can't wait to go crash at his house and be his partner at euchre and smoke everyone else and exchange presents with his family... FUN!! After YWAV was over, Ryne, Zach, and the whole Bogue clan came to our house. Dang, I just love being home. I've only been HOME-home for 1 full weekend so far this semester. Dad hates that, and he made it fairly clear last night that he wasn't a fan of this RA thing if it meant I can't be home much. Sorry dude. :( Thanksgiving break is in 3 weeks!! Bring it on.
This post was long and boring. I was hoping for some fun anecdotes and re-tellings of funny moments over the past 72 hours, but nothing came to me. Just straight facts. Maybe next time.
