Last night, Ben ripped me a new one. It wasn't fun. I actually sat and cried in the "privacy" of my room. Right... what privacy? I know he was right about most of the stuff he said, but I'm not sure to what extent. Regardless, I still felt like crap. But I guess the Lord knew what I needed and He supplied it. Many, many thanks to the person who IMed me and offered some much-needed encouragement me after my talk with Ben. Ah, the abundant joys of "the everyday stalker." Sorry if I kept you awake longer than you had planned. You know who you are :)
But, as bad as yesterday was, today was the exact opposite. I read some before going to bed and I dealt with what had happened. I felt pretty peaceful as I crawled in bed. So calm, in fact, that I was out in about 30 seconds. That's pretty cool.
I decided to get up earlier than necessary today so I could go to Wildcat and McConn and spend some time reading before my first class. So, at 8:30, I was sitting in the coffee shop eating a bagel and drinking the best Milky Way I've ever had from McConn. It was so good to start my day that way. I think that got me off on the right foot.
It was also really neat b/c all the profs from the Religion and Philosophy department (with the exception of Schenck and Williams) came to drink coffee at the same time I did, so they all stopped and talked to me. Dr. Wright, who was my Break-out Group leader last year asked me how I was doing with the things that he and I talked about last year. I was shocked that he remembered. Those men are just so encouraging. I like them lots!!
My day kept getting better and better. My English class got out early. PLUS, I saw a guy fall out of his chair, which always brightens up my day. How sick am I? It was so funny. He was really embarrassed, but cracked up.
I watched Dirty Dancing today, and Nozomi started practicing her oh-so seductive dance moves. And of course, Jenn mooned her so she got all flustered. Poor Noz. She is so much fun. I want you all to meet her.

Today was not nearly as exciting as yesterday was. But, I guess making trips to the emergency room will spice up anybody's day. There's just no comparison to sitting with your slightly delirious roommate and hearing the nurses say, and I quote, "Oh, God. Tie up the man in number 8. We can't handle that," as they rush in with those long elastic strips. :)
So, about yesterday... Well, Jenn went rollerblading on Sunday night and fell down and smacked he rhead on a curb. Wuzah, I said. Then, Monday, I was about 10 seconds away from crawling into bed for a nice afternoon nap when she walked in and asked me to take her to the ER. So, like the good roommate that I am, I did. We had no idea how to get to the hospital here, so I drove around Marion looking for hospital signs. We found it in record time, too. They got her in pretty quickly-head injuries are slightly more important than little red bumps on one's arm, I found out-so we went to the back and waited even longer. There weren't any more open rooms, so they stuck her on a table in the hallway and got me a chair. The nurse, Jack, asked if she wanted somehting for the pain. He offered a shot in the butt or a pill. I advised Jenn to go for the shot. Pretty much, I just wanted something fun to post about. Ok, I'm selfish. They wheeled her into a room and she yanked down her pants and good old Jack gave her the shot. It worked pretty quickly, b/c she got really goofy really fast. She was fun to be around. She held my hand during the shot and I thought she was going to break my finger. It bled a lot, too, which was disturbing. Actually, when she pulled her jeans back up, it bed through them. Yikes. Jenn the bloody butt. Anyhoo, to make a long story short, she has a bruised skull and neck, but no concussion. She'l be fine. The pain killer has made her a little loopy, so, of course, I have picked on her a little. It's my duty as a roommate to take advantage of the situation. :)
I had my first night class tonight. I love it already. It's my Short-term Missions Orientation class. Dr. Lo is so great. We did all sorts of fun stuff (i.e. we played crabwalk soccer on the ground in the classroom. Boys v. girls.) and I met lots of people. We were pretty much forced to get out of our ocmfort zones and interract. We also learned how to say some stuff in foreign languages, AND I got to say something in a "clicking" language. I think I said "eggs" but hey, any clicking is better than no clicking at all, right?
My dad was on campus today, meeting with Brenitalia, I mean Brenital, I mean Brent. He brought me a CD. Way to go, Daddy-o.
SO, folks, I guess that's about it. If Jenn does anything stupid, I'll be sure to post about it.
