I LOVE getting mail. I mean, I absolutely love it. A good piece of mail in my campus mail box is a guaranteed day-brightener. And since I know how much I enjoy receiving mail, I try to send out at least one card per week to an off-campus friend, and then two or three small somethings to people on campus.
On-campus mail. What a wonderful idea. I have to admit, I tend to send things to mail box numbers that I pick out of nowhere. Occasionally, I get the extreme joy of overhearing someone talk about something weird that so-and-so received in the mail the previous day, and that also serves to make me smile. Knowing that I sparked a conversation is satisfying.
I like to be involved in situations that people will tell their friends about later. Who doesn't? Personally, I like seeing things that are either so weird or so random or so funny that I can't wait to tell a friend about it. I know I'm with the majority on this one, so being able to take part in the aforementioned situations is a highlight of the week. The best is when you happen to come into a conversation at the wrong time and all you catch is something along the lines of, "I have crevices you didn't even know I had!" and then you turn and walk away thinking, "What the heck is that about?!"
NOTE: Nicole said that to me earlier today, at the very end of a conversation that started out by me saying that I loved living with her, and no, she does not make my life hell. So I'm sure that whoever was walking past out suite at that moment in time was weirded out by that. I sort of was.
