What a weekend!

I went home on Friday with the intention of going to Jeremy's basketball game. On my way home, I turned on my cell phone to find I had a voicemail message from my mom saying that the game had been cancelled. That was too bad, but we ended up going to eat as a family (minus Kalee) then watched _Tombstone_, which is one of the greatest movies of all time. I still don't understand why Val Kilmer didn't win an Oscar for his role as Doc Holiday. I think he was absolutely fabulous in that.

Andrew came over Saturday morning and I highlighted his hair, which turned out nicely. Woo! We went to lunch then watched _The Producers_ at his house. I also learned how to play chess (sort of. He kicked my butt, to be perfectly honest. I think he had 6 of my pieces... I had 2 of his. Next time, he's going down!) and was serenaded by a few piano pieces. All in all, it was a great afternoon. Sigh.

I went to Jeremy's basketball game on Saturday night at Tipton. On the way there, we were plowing through a few snowdrifts and managed to get a piece of snow up in the engine, which knocked off a serpentine belt. It was a learning experience for me, as I learned what, exactly, that stupid little belt controls. Who knew? Anyhoo, after we stopped along the side of the road twice for 10 minutes each, we finally made it to the school, but had to park far away because there was no power steering (courtesy of the belt). It was an adventure, that's for sure. At one point, Dad, Hannah Brown, and I climbed out to try and push the van out of the middle of the road, but to no avail. When the snow is 6 inches deep and you are on an incline, it's a hopeless case.

There were a few families from our church at the game, so after it was over, they all went out to the van and tried to help put the belt back on. Theoretically, changing a belt is a quick process, but only if one has the appropriate tool. Of course, nobody carries one of those bad boys with them, so nothing came of it. It was fun, though, because Josh, Cameron, Robey, Jarren and Tim Stafford, Scott Bogue, Pete Thompson, and Dad were all standing around in the cold, running back and forth between cars trying to find what was needed. Ah, the body of Christ. It made me happy. I love my church.

Speaking of church, I went to both services today. I think it's amazing how I can hear the same message twice and learn different things each time. I also stayed home all day and went to YWAV. I hadn't been since Christmas break, I believe. It was pretty good. At one point, Dad pointed to me and said children are "the result of Godly sex." He proceeded to talk about his sex life, AGAIN. After years of hearing him speak, I have no pride. I don't embarrass at all anymore. Okay, so that's not true, I do get embarrassed, but hardly ever about things he says. Our family is pretty open, which makes me laugh. My friends always comment that the things that are said around my dinner table would NEVER be said in their house. Welcome to the Pruett house, I suppose.

I left my car at home tonight, since the van is still in the parking lot at Tipton High School. Dad's car is ALSO in the shop, getting the clutch fixed on Monday, so my parents were left without a car. That's always fun. So, I came back to campus tonight with Kalee and Meg. I LOVE going places with them, we always have more fun than necessary. We listened to some old stuff that brought back lots of memories from junior high and early high school. We all three sang our heads off and danced around in our seats. Classic. All I can say is "Shorty Swing My Way" makes me smile like nothing else.

Once I got back to my room, I was in the mood to listen to more of the same stuff, so I am. The CD I'm currently playing is a big disappointment, though. It's not very good. I don't know who I got it from or what it is called, because I labeled it simply "#9" (meaning it was the 9th compilation CD somebody else made that I burned. I think.). Note to self: #9 isn't worth your time.
